PHASE ONE
Return from Injury/Surgery
This is the first phase of returning to throwing following an injury or surgery.
The goal is to get your arm use to the motions and stresses of throwing before
actually throwing.  We use shadow throws to retrain the muscles while paying
attention to proper mechanics.  Then, using a 3-5 lb ball while shadow throwing
trains your muscles to control your arm while maintaining proper mechanics.

Sock Throws is a throw with a special device that Dr. Lintner has developed
to allow training in proper mechanics while throwing indoors (in any
size room).  We use these at the Major and Minor league level with great
success.  It can be used anywhere, and gives immediate feed back on your techinique, ball release, etc.

Shadow throws are a slow throwing motion in a figure 8 pattern
Sock throw is a throw into a special device where you can throw a ball
in the training room without being on the field
These are done leading up to throwing during the last stages of rehab
60-90-60 program is instructed as follows
warm up, when loose start clock throw 60 feet with no arc
then after three minutes move back to 90 feet throw again
with no arc emphasing good extension through target. After
the prescribed number of minutes at 90 feet shorten to
60 feet for three more minutes emphasing location rather
than velocity for fine motor skill practice
